The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) recently hosted an introductory roadshow in Tirana, Albania, promoting its comprehensive “Nusuk” platform to support Umrah travelers visiting Mecca and Medina. The event, under the patronage of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, featured officials from the STA alongside participants from the Albanian Muslim Community, attracting representatives from key travel and Umrah agencies across the Balkan region, including North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Montenegro.
The Nusuk platform, designed to provide streamlined services for Umrah travelers, offers access to accommodation, transportation, and logistical support, along with opportunities for tourists to explore cultural and historical sites throughout Saudi Arabia. The roadshow highlighted the platform’s connections with over 200 accredited partners to simplify Umrah travel and enrich visitor experiences. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which targets welcoming 30 million Umrah performers by 2030.
Through the platform, citizens of Albania and Montenegro gain access to three types of visas, including eVisas and visas upon arrival, allowing multiple entries for up to 90 days within a year. These visa options enable Umrah performers to visit key sites across the Kingdom, including Madinah and the Prophet’s Mosque, before continuing their pilgrimage. Visitors from North Macedonia and Kosovo can apply for Umrah and Friends and Family visas, providing added flexibility for exploring Saudi Arabia’s cultural destinations.
“Tourism in Saudi Arabia offers a unique blend of spiritual and cultural experiences,” said Mohammed Abdullah, STA’s spokesperson. “Our partnerships with Balkan countries reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to broadening access to Umrah services and promoting year-round travel options for our guests.”
The event further emphasized Saudi Arabia’s expanding partnerships with Balkan countries, aiming to facilitate the Umrah experience for regional Muslim communities and promote tourism across the Kingdom.
